The Community Manager will be responsible for building and executing on title-specific community calendars and engagement programs for Cryptic Studios. Duties will include the creation and distribution of blogs and other player-facing content via platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, Discord, and more.

This person will play an important role in coordinating pre-launch alpha and beta test communications, maintaining feedback loops, and building comprehensive opportunity reports that will be used to help shape new or existing products. This role will report to the Lead Producer of their assigned title and is not eligible for working remotely.

  Every day you could be:  

  • Developing community plans in concert with the development team to span alpha, beta, and launch phases
  • Crafting important communications to and funneling feedback from our growing community
  • Working with Studio, Project, and Publisher Leadership to integrate community plans into broader marketing strategies
  • Establishing and maintaining an effective feedback loop that combines quantitative and qualitative reports
  • Working in tight coordination with the game development team to stay current on changes
  • Monitoring and assessing community sentiment for Cryptic games, and pulling together reports from forums and social media channels
  • Planning, drafting, and distributing community focused content through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other channels
  • Finding and coordinating interviews, podcasts, live streams, and other community outreach
  • Creating and fostering a positive community experience for players  

What we’d like to see:

  • 2-3+ years experience managing communities for live-ops environments
  • Experience managing feedback loops and communications for alpha and beta phases
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to address internal and external audiences effectively
  • Proven ability to mentor community teams, assess performance, and creatively solve problems
  • Strong comprehension of social media platforms, listening tools, and report building
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, can-do attitude
  • Highly capable problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Well-organized and detail oriented approach
  • Strong interest in the gaming and entertainment industry; MMORPG experience preferred
  • Passion for the Magic franchise preferred
  • Play experience of Cryptic titles including Star Trek Online and/or Neverwinter preferred
